Chapter 5 The study on the relationship between modern pollen rain and local vegetation

The research of modern pollen rain begun at twenty century in medicine especially in the relationship between airborne pollen/spores and allergy (Wang and Wang，1990; Huang and Chen，1998). But in palynology，scientists want to understand the relationship between modern vegetation and the composing and transport of pollen/spores in natural condition. It is the reliable information to study fossil pollen and palaeovegetation through the study of modern pollen rain and local vegetation (Wang et al.，2000; Huang and Cour，2001).
