A mythical first man，from whom all humanity is descended，accord-ing to the Genesis account of creation. After he disobeyed God's commandnot to eat the fruit of a certain tree in the Garden of Eden，Adam，with his wife Eve，was expelled from the Garden (Gen.1-5).
